Ingredients
- 2 pkg. prepared pie dough
- 8 medium apples, peeled, cored and halved
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 1 c. butter or margarine, melted
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Method
- Cut each pie dough into 4 pieces (16) and wrap each piece around an apple half; place seam side down into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Combine sugar, water, butter and vanilla; pour into the pan.
- Sprinkle cinnamon over the dumplings.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and apples are tender.
- Serve immediately.
