Ingredients

  • 1 cup Honey Roasted Peanuts Or Lightly Salted Peanuts
  • 2 cups Oats
  • 3/4 cups Wheat Germ
  • 3/4 cups Flax Seeds Or Sunflower Seeds
  • 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Honey
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoons Coarse Sea Salt
  • 1/2 bars (3.5 Oz. Bar) Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate, If Desired

Method

  • Crush peanuts in a plastic bag until finely crushed.
  • Mix nuts, oats, wheat germ, and seeds in a baking dish and toast in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • Stir every 3 minutes or so.
  • Grease a baking dish or use foil in the baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, melt sugar, honey, butter, vanilla, and salt until everything is melted and simmers.
  • Put the toasted oat mixture in a large bowl and gradually stir in the liquid ingredients.
  • If you are using the chocolate, break or chop the bar into small pieces and mix them in.
  • Pour in the baking dish and let cool completely.
