Ingredients

  • 18 ounces cake mix 1 container, yellow or white
  • 8 ounces vanilla frosting or as needed, or you can make your own
  • 1 x licorice red as needed, or you can choose any your favorite color, for ties, mouth and whiskers
  • 2 each gumdrops or jelly beans as needed, red for eyes
  • 1 each gumdrops red for nose, or you use jelly beans
  • 1 x jelly beans different color, as needed, decorate inside tie

Method

  • Heat oven to 350F.
  • Make and cool cake as directed on box for two 8-inch round pans.
  • Leave 1 cake whole.
  • Use serrated knife to cut remaining cake into 3 pieces as shown in picture, two ears and the tie.
  • Freeze pieces uncovered 1 hour for easier frosting, if desired.
  • Arrange pieces on tray as shown.
  • Frost head and ears with frosting, attaching pieces with small amount of frosting.
  • Frost tie.
  • Sprinkle the whole cake with coconut flakes until evenly coated and look fluffy.
  • Decorate inside the tie with colored jelly beans, go on decorating outline and inside lines with licorice as picture shown.
  • Decorate eyes, nose, mouth and whiskers as picture shown.
  • Keep refrigerated.
