Ingredients
- 2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- few grains salt
Method
- Heat milk, sugar and a few grains salt in top of double broiler.
- Beat egg yolks slightly; add some of the heated milk. Mix and pour back into remaining milk.
- Place over hot, not boiling water.
- Cook, stirring constantly until custard coats metal spoon. Remove at once; add vanilla and place pan in bowl of cold water. Stir occasionally until cool.
- Makes about 2 cups.
- Great over jello, pound cake, etc., for easy dessert.
