Ingredients

  • 3 c. chopped celery (about 5 ribs), cooked for 7 minutes in salted water and drained
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 3 1/2 oz. pkg. slivered almonds
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 32 Ritz crackers, crushed

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Combine the first 3 ingredients and put in an 8-inch casserole dish.
  • In the microwave, saute the almonds with the margarine for about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes.
  • Pour almonds over the crushed crackers and toss lightly.
  • Spread cracker mixture over celery mixture.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Makes 8 servings.
