Ingredients

  • 2 large-sized potatoes, sliced
  • 2 or 3 carrots, sliced
  • 1 (1 lb.) can peas, well drained
  • 3 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 ribs celery, sliced
  • 1 (10 oz.) can tomato soup
  • 1 soup can water
  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef, browned
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Put layers of vegetables in the order given in slow cooker. Season each layer with salt and pepper.
  • Put the lightly browned ground beef on top of the celery.
  • Mix tomato soup and can of water and pour over top of beef.
  • Cover and set on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 2 to 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Ingredients may be increased by half for a 5-quart model cooker.
