Ingredients
- 3 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. chopped onions
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 42 oz. can kidney beans
- 2 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, well drained
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne
Method
- Brown the beef in a large skillet.
- Drain and place in a slow cooker.
- Saute chopped onions in a small amount of shortening. Stir in chili powder and cook a minute longer.
- Add remaining ingredients to the beef mixture.
- Cook 8 to 10 hours on low setting or 1 1/2 hours on high and then 5 hours on low.
