- 12 cup margarine
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup plain yogurt or 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 (398 ml) canwhole cranberry sauce, pureed
- 12 cup walnuts, chopped
- 34 cup icing sugar
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 12 teaspoon almond extract
Method
- Cream margarine, sugar and eggs.
- Sift dry ingredients.
- Mix alternately into creamed ingredients the dry ingredients and yogurt.
- Add almond extract; beat well.
- Spread 1/2 batter in well-greased tube pan.
- Spread cranberry sauce on top.
- Spread the rest of the batter, then the remaining cranberry sauce.
- Sprinkle with walnuts.
- Bake in 350F oven for 1 hour.
- Cool in pan.
- Run knife around edge: Remove from pan.
- Pour glaze over cake.
