Ingredients
- 6 cans small button mushrooms or 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
- 1/4 c. butter (the more the better)
- 3 to 4 cloves garlic, split
- pinch of thyme and oregano
- lots of Parmesan cheese
Method
- Melt butter; saute garlic slowly.
- Let stand a while.
- Remove garlic and add drained (or fresh) mushrooms, thyme, oregano and saute over low heat until lightly browned.
- Turn off heat and let stand all day to season, stirring occasionally.
- If time permits, reheat before transfering to chafing dish or candle warmer.
- Add lots of grated Parmesan cheese; toss lightly to distribute cheese.
