Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cup Butter, Softened
  • 3/4 cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cups White Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 cups Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 cup Chopped Walnuts Or Pecans, Lightly Toasted (optional)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheets (or use Silpat). Cream together butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla, beat until mixed.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a separate bowl. Add slowly to the creamed butter mixture.
  • Add rolled oats and nuts if using.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Place in preheated oven for 8-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Yields: 4 dozen+ cookies.
