Ingredients
- 1-1/4 cup Butter, Softened
- 3/4 cups Packed Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cups White Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1-1/2 cup Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3 cups Old Fashioned Oats
- 1 cup Chopped Walnuts Or Pecans, Lightly Toasted (optional)
Method
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheets (or use Silpat). Cream together butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla, beat until mixed.
- Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a separate bowl. Add slowly to the creamed butter mixture.
- Add rolled oats and nuts if using.
- Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Place in preheated oven for 8-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Yields: 4 dozen+ cookies.
