Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. Crisco oil
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Method

  • Sift sugar, flour, soda and cinnamon together in one bowl. Then put water, margarine, oil and cocoa in a double boiler and bring to a boil.
  • Pour over dry ingredients.
  • Then mix buttermilk, eggs and vanilla; add to batter.
  • Pour into a 13 x 9-inch greased pan.
  • Bake in preheated 375° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Then spread chocolate icing on it.
