Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoons (just A Pinch) Salt
- 1/3 cups Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 cups Maple Syrup Or Sweetener Of Choice
- 2 cups Whole Milk
- 2 whole Egg Yolks, Lightly Beaten
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
Method
- 1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cornstarch, salt, cocoa powder, and maple syrup until smooth. In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk and egg yolks.
- 2. Slowly whisk the milk and yolks into the mixture in the pan. Set the heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
- 3. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla. Serve warm (over ice cream) or chilled (with whipped cream).
