Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. Toll House chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)

Method

  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased
  • cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 2 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen.
