- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 green peppers, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. hot sauce
- 1 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (12 oz.) can kidney beans
- 1 (12 oz.) can baked beans
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
Method
- In a large pot, brown ground beef and drain off grease.
- Add green peppers and onion; saute until soft.
- Add the spices and seasonings.
- Add tomatoes and tomato paste.
- Drain and rinse kidney beans and add them to the pot.
- Add baked beans and brown sugar; simmer for 1/2 hour.
- Makes 1 gallon.
