Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 6 3/4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 3/4 ounces grated cheese or grated Parmesan
  • chives chopped, to taste

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly grease a baking sheet. Set aside.
  • Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix together with fingertips. Do not knead or over mix.
  • Form into a disk and cut into 8 wedges. Place on the baking sheet leaving space between each scone.
  • Bake until golden brown. Serve while still warm with butter.
