Ingredients
- 12 large cabbage leaves
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
- 3/4 c. brown rice, cooked
- 1 small onion, minced
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 2 cans tomato sauce
- 1/3 c. vinegar or lemon juice
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
Method
- Cook cabbage leaves for 4 minutes in boiling salted water; drain.
- Brown ground chuck; drain.
- Mix meat with cooked brown rice, minced onion, salt, pepper and tomato sauce.
- Divide meat into 12 portions, each portion placed in center of each cabbage leaf.
- Roll and fold, seam side down in large baking dish.
