Ingredients

  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 tsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla (or to taste)
  • 1 uncooked pie shell

Method

  • Soften butter.
  • Beat eggs until blended and combine with sugar and flour.
  • Mix butter, egg mixture and buttermilk.
  • Cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla.
  • Pour into pie shell and bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until knife stuck in the middle comes out clean.
  • (Cook empty pie shell for 4 or 5 minutes so the bottom won't be soggy.)
