Ingredients
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. oleo, softened
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
Method
- In a saucepan, heat milk until bubbles appear around edge of pan.
- Combine oleo, sugar and salt.
- Add hot milk and stir well. Cool to lukewarm.
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Beat yeast mixture and egg into milk mixture.
- Beat in the flour until dough pulls away from sides of bowl.
- On floured surface, knead dough until smooth.
- Place in greased bowl and let rise until doubled.
