Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. oleo, softened
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour

Method

  • In a saucepan, heat milk until bubbles appear around edge of pan.
  • Combine oleo, sugar and salt.
  • Add hot milk and stir well. Cool to lukewarm.
  • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Beat yeast mixture and egg into milk mixture.
  • Beat in the flour until dough pulls away from sides of bowl.
  • On floured surface, knead dough until smooth.
  • Place in greased bowl and let rise until doubled.
