Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1/3 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Method

  • Beat eggs.
  • Gradually add sugar and vanilla.
  • Beat well. Blend in melted butter.
  • (Blend cocoa in melted butter before adding to egg mixture.)
  • Before adding flour, mix flour, salt and baking powder together, then add to egg mixture.
  • Stir until well blended.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Spread in a greased 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from sides.
  • Cool in pan.
