Ingredients

  • 2 slightly beaten eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. 1-inch day old bread cubes
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. raisins

Method

  • Place bread crumbs into an 8 x 1 3/4-inch round ovenware cake dish.
  • Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.
  • Stir in brown sugar and raisins.
  • Pour mixture into cake dish and place cover on top.
  • Place dish in larger shallow pan on oven rack.
  • Pour 1-inch of hot water into larger pan.
  • Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean.
  • Serves 6.
