Ingredients
- 1 lb. pea beans or great northern
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 c. catsup or barbecue sauce
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 5 slices bacon, cut into 2 inch pieces, or salt pork
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 c. ground black pepper
- 3/4 c. water
Method
- Place pea beans in slow cooker. Add water to 1 inch above beans; cover. Turn heat to High and cook for 3 hours. Stir in remaining ingredients; cover. Cook on Low 10 to 14 hours or until beans are tender.
