Ingredients

  • 1 (8 to 9 oz.) loaf day old French bread, cut in 1-inch slices on diagonal
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 6 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 c. blueberries

Method

  • Mix flour, brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Cut in butter until coarsely ground.
  • Turn slices of bread over and cover well with blueberries.
  • Sprinkle crumb mixture on top.
  • Bake 40 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve by slices or cut into squares.
  • (May top with slices of strawberries, if desired, instead of blueberries.)
