Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 pounds black mission figs
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 vanilla beans

Method

  • Wash and dry carefully the black figs .Thinly slices figs and place them in a saucepan.Pour the sugar, add the vanilla beans and the juice of 1 lemon.
  • Cover and let stand for one hour. Put the pot on the fire, bring to a boil and turn off.
  • Put the mixture in the refrigerator for whole night.
  • Day after put figs on the fire, cook the jam for about ten minutes , stirring occasionally.
  • Put the breast in jars clean, close and leave to cool head down.
