Ingredients

  • 3 cups ketchup
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 12 cup brown sugar
  • 12 cup molasses
  • 14 cup mustard
  • 14 cup corn syrup
  • 12 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder (Gebhardt's)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke (hickory)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Tabasco sauce

Method

  • Cook everything in a sauce pot for 30 minutes over medium low heat.
  • Strain onions and discard.
  • Add Tabasco to taste.
  • Store in fridge.
  • Best served warm.
  • Can be used as finishing sauce the last feew minutes of grilling.
  • Contains sugar, so will burn over direct heat.
  • Freezes well.
