Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 stick or 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 c. flour

Method

  • Scald milk.
  • Stir in sugar, salt and margarine.
  • Cool to lukewarm.
  • Measure warm water into a large bowl.
  • Sprinkle yeast until dissolved.
  • Add milk, egg and 2 cups flour.
  • Beat with mixer to a soft dough.
  • Add rest of flour.
  • Stir with wooden spoon. Cover; let rise until double, about 30 minutes.
  • Punch down and shape into rolls; let rise.
  • Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
