Ingredients

  • 4 cups chopped apples
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 dash salt
  • 12 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 12 cup margarine
  • 12 cup brown sugar
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup water

Method

  • For pudding, mix apples, eggs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Sift together flour, baking soda, salt; add to pudding mixture.
  • Add the nuts.
  • Pour into ungreased 13x9-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until done.
  • Cool.
  • Combine topping ingredients; cook and stir until clear.
  • Pour over the cake portion while hot.
