Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup Apples, Peeled And Finely Diced
  • 1-1/2 cup Cane Sugar, Divided
  • 1 cup Walnuts, Finely Chopped (I Use My Food Processor)
  • 1/4 cups Water
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cloves
  • 1/2 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Quick Cooking Oatmeal

Method

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • In a saucepan, combine apples, 1/2 cup cane sugar and nuts. Add water. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture is thick and apples are tender, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Cream butter and remaining 1 cup of cane sugar. Beat in eggs.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Add alternately with milk to the creamed mixture. Stir in oatmeal.
  • On a greased baking sheet, drop dough by the teaspoonful. Make depression in the center. Top with about 1/2 teaspoon apple filling.
  • Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes.
