Ingredients

  • large apples, to make 20 quarters
  • 1 can buttermilk biscuits
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice

Method

  • Peel and quarter large apples (if small, use 1/2).
  • Roll out biscuits
  • thin
  • and
  • cut
  • in
  • halves (20 halves).
  • Take 1/2 biscuit and wrap around each apple quarter.
  • Place on greased 9 x 12-inch
  • pan.
  • Melt
  • 2 sticks butter and pour over dumplings. Mix together water, sugar, cinnamon and apple pie spice.
  • Pour over dumplings. Bake
  • at
  • 375° for
  • 1 hour.
  • One can biscuits equal 20 dumplings.
  • May halve recipe.
