Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. egg noodles
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 lb. Velveeta cheese

Method

  • Brown meat and onion; drain.
  • Add tomato soup, catsup, water, salt and brown sugar.
  • Simmer; stir frequently.
  • Cook noodles by package directions while sauce simmers.
  • Drain noodles and mix with sour cream and chicken soup.
  • Pour noodle mixture into 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
  • Slice Velveeta layer on top of noodles. Pour sauce on top of cheese.
  • Bake, covered, at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake another 20 to 30 minutes.
