Ingredients
- 2 lb. ground chuck, ground once
- 1 large can tomatoes
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 can chow mein noodles
- salt and pepper to taste
- soy sauce
- 1 c. rice, uncooked
- 2 bell peppers, chopped
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1 bud garlic, minced
Method
- Sear meat in heavy skillet in small pat of butter until lightly browned.
- Add rice and stir.
- Add tomatoes, cut through with knife. Add chopped peppers, onion, celery and garlic.
- Stir well, salt and pepper to taste and bring to boil.
- Turn heat to lowest flame and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
- Do not lift lid or stir during last cooking.
- Serve over chow mein noodles with soy sauce.
- Serves 8 or 10.
