- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 (1 lb.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (3 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 1/2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. crushed basil
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 c. chopped onion (optional)
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
Method
- Heat olive oil; add turkey, but do not brown.
- Stir in the rest of the ingredients, except cheese.
- Mix well.
- Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hour.
- Serve over pasta, rice or mashed potatoes.
- Top with Parmesan cheese.
- Yield: 4 servings.
