Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 (1 lb.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (3 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1 1/2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed basil
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion (optional)
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese

Method

  • Heat olive oil; add turkey, but do not brown.
  • Stir in the rest of the ingredients, except cheese.
  • Mix well.
  • Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hour.
  • Serve over pasta, rice or mashed potatoes.
  • Top with Parmesan cheese.
  • Yield: 4 servings.
