Ingredients

  • 2 strips bacon
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 2 c. stewed tomatoes or 6 medium raw, peeled and quartered
  • dash of sage
  • 2 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. Cheddar sharp cheese

Method

  • Fry bacon; remove and drain.
  • Leave 1 tablespoon of grease in pan.
  • Saute onion and green pepper in grease.
  • Mix all ingredients.
  • Spoon into lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Sprinkle bacon crumbs and cheese over top.
  • Cook at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
