Ingredients
- 8 slices rye bread
- 8 tsp. margarine
- 8 (1 oz.) slices Swiss cheese
- 1/2 c. bottled Russian dressing
- 1 lb. sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
- 1 lb. thickly sliced corned beef
Method
- Adjust oven rack to lowest position.
- Heat oven to 400°.
- Have a cookie sheet ready.
- Spread one side of bread with oleo.
- Place 4 slices butter side down on cookie sheet.
- Cover each with one slice Swiss cheese, 1 tablespoon dressing, 1/4 of sauerkraut, 1/4 of corned beef, another tablespoon of dressing and another slice of cheese.
- Cover with remaining bread, butter side up.
- Bake about 20 minutes, turning sandwiches once.
- Makes 4.
