Ingredients

  • 2 unbaked pie shells (9-inch)
  • 1/2 c. bacon bits
  • 4 eggs, well beaten
  • 2 c. half and half
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onions
  • 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, grated
  • 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Method

  • Sprinkle bacon bits on bottom of each pie shell. Mix together remaining bacon bits with the rest of the ingredients.
  • Pour half of this mixture into each pie shell.
  • Bake in a 350° oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown and knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Serves 12.
