Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2 size) can crushed pineapple
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 large Cool Whip or 2 pkg. Dream Whip
  • 1 large box vanilla pudding mix

Method

  • Bake cake according to directions, using 2 round pans or sheet pan.
  • Let cake cool.
  • Cut in half if sheet pan.
  • Crumble one of the cake halves in bottom of punch bowl.
  • Mix together pineapple, pecans and pie filling.
  • Layer half of mixture on cake crumbs. Prepare pudding and pour 1/2 over fruit.
  • Crumble other half of cake layer, remaining fruit, then remaining pudding.
  • Spread Cool Whip on top.
  • Sprinkle with nuts or coconut.
