Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon instant minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon dried basil
  • 18 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 (5/8 ounce) package brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup water

Method

  • In large mixing bowl, combine ground beef with onion, salt, basil and pepper.
  • Mix thouroughly.
  • Shape into 4 patties.
  • Brown in oil in large fry pan.
  • Remove patties and drain well.
  • Pour drippings from fry pan.
  • In same pan, saute mushrooms in butter.
  • Add browned patties to mushrooms.
  • Combine gravy mix, water; add to patties.
  • Cover; simmer, stirring gently occasionally, 15 to 20 minutes until meat is done.
