Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 (No. 2 1/2) can sliced peaches
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. lemon peel
Method
- Melt butter in a 7 x 11-inch baking dish.
- Sift together dry ingredients.
- Add milk and stir well.
- Pour into the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Top with peaches, including juice.
- Sprinkle nutmeg, cinnamon and lemon peel over peaches, but do not stir.
- Bake in 350° oven 40 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serves 6 to 8.
