Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 5 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. milk
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- cornmeal
Method
- Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda.
- Heat liquids (120° to 130°).
- Add to dry ingredients.
- Beat well.
- Stir in rest of flour to make a stiff batter.
- Spoon into 2 loaf pans that are greased and sprinkled with cornmeal.
- Let rise in warm place 45 minutes.
- Microwave on High 13 minutes.
- Allow to set in pans 5 minutes.
- Toast when ready to use.
