Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 3/4 c. oats or crumbled crackers
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 c. tomato juice
- 1 egg or 2 egg whites, slightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Combine all ingredients; mix lightly, but thoroughly.
- Press into an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan.
- Bake 1 hour or until meat is no longer pink and juices run clear.
- Drain; let stand 5 minutes before serving.
- Makes 8 servings.
