Ingredients

  • 10 ounces finely crushed vanilla wafers (2 1/2 cups, I use Nilla Vanilla wafers for this)
  • 1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons finely ground hazelnuts
  • 1/4 cup Bourbon (I use Jack Daniels for this or you can use rum also)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (you can roll them in confectioners sugar in place of granulated sugar if desired)

Method

  • In a medium size bowl mix together the vanilla crumbs, bourbon, cocoa and corn syrup until well combined.
  • Shape into small balls (using about 1 tablespoon mixture for each ball).
  • Place on waxed paper.
  • Place the granulated sugar in a small shallow dish.
  • Roll the small balls in sugar to coat.
  • Place in a tightly covered container for a minimum of 24 hours to develop flavors.
