Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 3/4 c. Parmesan, grated
  • 1/3 c. sharp Cheddar, grated
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • coarse salt or sesame seeds

Method

  • Preheat oven to 325°.
  • Sift dry ingredients together.
  • Mix in cheese.
  • Cut in butter and work in cream to make smooth dough. Chill at least 1 hour.
  • Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface.
  • Cut with canape cutters.
  • Place on ungreased baking sheet; brush with egg yolk mixed with 1 tablespoon water. Sprinkle with coarse salt or sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until golden.
  • Yields 24.
