Ingredients
- 1 yellow cake mix
- 1 can pie filling (any kind)
- 1/2 stick butter or margarine
Method
- Butter inside of a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or Dutch oven. Pour in pie filling. Pour cake mix on top. Evenly dot top of cake mix with thin slices of butter.
- Scoop out a hole in fire and place pan with liquid in coals.
- Push coals around pan and place some on top. Leave in fire 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove from fire. Serve warm.
- In oven, bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350°.
