- 6 c. chicken broth
- 1/4 tsp. baking soa
- 1 1/2 c. sharp cheese, cubed
- 3 pkg. frozen broccoli, thawed
- 3/4 c. diced onion
- 3/4 c. shredded carrot
- 3/4 c. diced celery
- 1/4 c. plus 1/8 c. flour
- 6 c milk
- 1/4 c. plus 1/8 c. melted margarine
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Method
- Saute carrots, onion and celery in margarine.
- Add flour and cornstarch and cook 1 minute.
- Slowly add milk and chicken broth, cook until thick.
- Stir in baking soda and cheese until melted. Add broccoli and simmer for one hour.
