Ingredients

  • 1 lb. thawed sausage
  • 1 large, raw egg
  • 8 large eggs, hard-cooked, shelled and patted dry
  • flour
  • 1/2 c. packaged bread crumbs
  • 4 c. vegetable oil for deep frying

Method

  • Mix sausage and egg until well blended; divide into 8 even portions.
  • Roll hard-cooked eggs in flour to lightly coat.
  • Pat 1 portion of sausage around each egg to form thin, even coating. Roll eggs in bread crumbs to coat.
  • Heat oil to 375° over medium heat.
  • Fry 5 to 6 minutes until golden, turning often to brown on all sides.
  • Drain on paper towels.
