Ingredients
- 3/4 c. butter flavor Crisco
- 1 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. pecan pieces (optional)
Method
- Heat oven to 375°.
- Combine Crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat until creamy. Blend in egg.
- Mix flour, salt and soda together in separate bowl.
- Gradually add flour mixture to batter.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Drop by rounded tablespoonful of dough 3-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not overbake.
- Cookies will look light and chewy.
- Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
