Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. butter flavor Crisco
  • 1 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. pecan pieces (optional)

Method

  • Heat oven to 375°.
  • Combine Crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat until creamy. Blend in egg.
  • Mix flour, salt and soda together in separate bowl.
  • Gradually add flour mixture to batter.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonful of dough 3-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not overbake.
  • Cookies will look light and chewy.
  • Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
